Bidx Prime Trade Zone Ltd ("BidX", "we", "us", or "our") operates the BidX marketplace application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and disclose information when you use BidX.
1. Information We Collect
Account and contact information
Depending on how you register or use BidX, we may collect:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Account authentication information
- Google account information when you choose to connect or sign in with Google
- Profile information you choose to provide
OTP and authentication information
When phone-number registration or verification is used, BidX may process your phone number and a temporary verification code for account authentication. OTP information is used for verification and security and is not used to send marketing messages without the appropriate basis or consent.
Marketplace information
When you use marketplace features, we may collect information you provide such as:
- Product names, descriptions, prices, categories and photos
- Seller information
- Favourites and other marketplace preferences
- Messages and communications sent through BidX
- Referral codes and referral activity
Information you provide to other users
If you voluntarily publish contact details, WhatsApp information, or payment/account details in a seller listing, those details may be visible to other BidX users. You should only publish information you are comfortable sharing.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate and maintain user accounts
- Provide marketplace, seller and messaging features
- Display products and seller information
- Send account, security and OTP communications
- Operate referrals, seller credits and related marketplace features
- Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access and security incidents
- Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
- Maintain, secure and improve BidX
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
3. Payments and Financial Information
BidX is a marketplace platform and does not operate as a bank, lender, cryptocurrency service, money-transfer service, or digital wallet. Buyers and sellers may communicate directly and may arrange payment, delivery, or collection between themselves.
BidX may process information necessary to administer fees paid to BidX for seller subscriptions. BidX does not receive or hold buyer-to-seller purchase funds on behalf of buyers or sellers.
4. Service Providers and Third Parties
We may use trusted service providers to operate BidX. Depending on the feature used, these may include:
- Supabase for database, authentication and related backend services.
- BulkSMS Nigeria for sending phone verification/OTP messages.
- Google when you choose Google sign-in or account linking.
- Payment providers used for BidX seller subscription fees, where applicable.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers needed to operate the BidX service.
These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services. Their own privacy policies may also apply to information they process.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to service providers, professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement authorities where legally required, or other parties where necessary to protect BidX, our users, or our legal rights.
Information that you intentionally publish in a public marketplace listing may be visible to other BidX users. Messages and information shared directly with another user may also be visible to the intended recipient.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Data transmitted between your device and supported services is protected using secure transport mechanisms where available.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. You should use a strong password and protect your account credentials.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide BidX, maintain security, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, enforce agreements, and protect our legitimate interests. When information is no longer required, we will delete it or securely de-identify it where appropriate, subject to lawful retention requirements.

BidX users may request deletion of their account and associated personal information by contacting us using the details below. We may need to verify the request before processing it.

Where deletion is requested, we will delete or de-identify associated personal information that we are not required or permitted to retain. Information that must be retained by law, for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or other legitimate purposes may be retained for the applicable period and then deleted or de-identified.

BidX is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review and take appropriate action.
10. Your Choices
You may review or update certain account information through BidX where those controls are available. You may also contact us regarding access, correction, or deletion of your personal information.
